On February 16, 2010 radiation therapists at the Nova Scotia Cancer Centre, Halifax and Cape Breton Cancer Centre, Sydney learned that the provincial government has committed $10.1 million for new radiation therapy equipment and facility construction. In addition, the QEII Foundation will contribute $4 million to the project at the Halifax site. These funds supplement the funding of the Radiation Therapy Wait Time Guarantee Project and will provide the space and equipment needed to keep up with developments in the technology of cancer treatment as well as patient demand.
